An Associate Director is a senior leadership role that requires an experienced communicator to lead the overall direction and performance of the client service team. The overarching objective of this role is to provide strategic direction on the development and implementation of best-in-class communications that deliver against agreed business objectives for our clients.

As an Associate Director, you will:

  • Develop and manage key senior client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead the overall direction and performance of the client service team.
  • Lead the development and implementation of best-in-class communication strategies.
  • Take time to understand client needs and expectations in order to ensure those needs are reflected in communications strategies and activities.
  • Support the Leadership Team with the execution of the business strategy and oversee the client service team to ensure they are actively contributing to it.
  • Provide vision and leadership that engages and motivates the client service team.
  • Identify, pursue and close new business including leading and participating in pitches.
  • Drive revenue for the business including actively monitoring profitability on client accounts and delivering work within minimum profit margins.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the media and build and maintain effective working relationships with key media stakeholders.

Requirements

What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years’ experience working in a similar senior role within a relevant field.
  • An established network of business and media contacts.
  • Experience at successfully managing a team including supporting and coaching team members to achieve individual objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication with ability to lead and communicate in a clear, persuasive and impactful way.
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism and a good sense of humour.
  • Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori is desirable but not necessary.
